Can Aligners Affect The Way You Speak?

Can orthodontics affect the way you speak?

Definitely yes!

It can affect your speech in two ways! One, when you have aligners on your teeth, there's a clear plastic that goes around your teeth so it can affect the way you enunciate certain words!

When you don't have orthodontics, if your teeth are too far forward or if they're brought back, it can actually change the way you speak. Because you have to retrain the way your tongue goes on your teeth. So certain sounds such as the “th” sound or “the” sound or “v” sound, would actually change. But you get used to it pretty quickly!
